FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Firefighters responded to the scene of a commercial building fire Wednesday morning on Fort Lauderdale Beach, first responders confirmed to Local 10 News.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials, the fire was reported just before 7 a.m. at a two-story commercial building along the 3000 block of East Las Olas Boulevard.
Firefighters said crews arrived in under five minutes and found smoke coming from the roof area.
“Firefighters entered the structure to find smoke filling the second floor,” a spokesperson for the fire department said. “The fire was found to be burning in a void space between the first and second stories that was being used for storage.”

FLFR officials said the fire was extinguished in about 40 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
