Video taken from Sky 10 captured an intense scene in Fort Lauderdale, with police guns drawn as a group of people moved slowly, hands raised.

On the ground, officers zeroed in on a black BMW with front side-panel damage as a tow truck moved in to haul it away.

The scene unfolded in a neighborhood just south of Sunrise Boulevard and east of I-95, where detectives had tracked a stolen vehicle and a possible getaway driver, authorities said. A K-9 unit worked the trail, searching for a suspect still on the loose.

According to police, the chase began south in Hallandale Beach, where a vehicle was stolen and the driver refused to stop. It carried into Hollywood, where officers from two different jurisdictions ended up colliding with each other, authorities said.

Video showed a badly damaged Hollywood police cruiser, with a battered Hallandale Beach cruiser parked nearby at South Federal Highway and Van Buren Street.

Police set up perimeters close by, in the 3000 block of Hayes Street and the 3000 block of Johnson Street near the Tri-Rail tracks, apparently searching for someone — or several people — connected to the stolen car investigation.

A Broward Sheriff’s Office helicopter was spotted in the air Thursday night, signaling that a suspect or suspects tied to the investigation remain on the run, believed to have bailed out at some point during the pursuit.
