MIAMI — The Miami Hurricanes are keeping their head coach around a bit longer.
Miami and Head Coach Mario Cristobal have agreed to terms on a new contract extension, according to the Miami Herald.

Terms of the new deal have not been reported or released.
Miami’s upcoming season will be Cristobal’s fifth as head coach of the Hurricanes.
He was originally hired by Miami in 2021, signing a 10-year contract that was worth $80 million.
Last season, the Canes reached the College Football Playoff National Championship Game for the first time in 24 years.

The Hurricanes haven’t won a National Championship since 2001.
During his four seasons as Miami’s head coach, Cristobal has led the Hurricanes to a 35-19 record during the regular season and a 3-3 mark in bowl games.
They are among the favorites expected to contend for a national title this season.
