Driver flees scene after man struck in Deerfield Beach hit-and-run, deputies say

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent hit-and-run that they say left a man with life-threatening injuries Friday night in Deerfield Beach.

At approximately 8:26 p.m., BSO dispatchers received a report of a hit-and-run near Southwest First Terrace and Third Court, according to investigators.

Authorities said deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and found a man suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

They said paramedics transported the man to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other details about his age or identity were immediately released.

According to investigators, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid.

Authorities said BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
