FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale firefighters responded to Inter Miami CF Stadium Saturday morning after a security guard reported a fire burning inside a telecommunications room on the property, first responders said.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the fire was reported at about 7:30 a.m. at the stadium, located at 1350 NW 55th St.
Firefighters arrived to find some smoke showing and stretched a hose line to the room.

However, crews discovered that the building’s sprinkler system had already extinguished the fire.
Firefighters checked to make sure the flames had not spread to other areas, and authorities said the damage appeared to be contained to the telecom room.

A fire investigator will work to determine what caused the fire.
