MIAMI — Miami homicide detectives released the identify of the alleged intruder who died on Monday morning after a shooting near the Design District area.

Melvin Diaz Cepeda died after the shooting at about 5 a.m. on Monday at a home at 4606 NW 5th Ave., according to the Miami Police Department’s release on Wednesday.
“Firefighters pronounced him deceased on the scene,” Lt. Pete Sanchez, a spokesman for Miami Fire Rescue, said in a statement.

Officer Kenia Fallat, a spokeswoman for MPD, said detectives questioned one person during the investigation.
