A man told Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies that he and Michael Delvalle had been in a dating relationship since September, according to a deputy’s arrest report.
The man said Delvalle “threw shards of glass” that hurt his hands during “a dispute over money,” so he was trying to get away, according to the report.
“If you don’t come out, I’m going to smoke you out,” Delvalle told the man, according to the report.
Firefighters responded to a two-structure fire shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Thursday at an abandoned public housing complex at Southwest 139 Avenue and 260 Street, according to the deputy’s report.

Firefighters reported damage at 13924 SW 260 St. and 26006 SW 139 Ave., and helped a man who was injured and who had suffered smoke inhalation, according to the deputy’s report.
Delvalle fled, but deputies found him nearby on Friday, detained him for questioning, and arrested him at the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office South District Station in Cutler Bay, according to a deputy’s report.
Miami-Dade corrections booked Delvalle shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Friday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he remained on Monday without bond, according to inmate records.
Delvalle faced charges of first-degree arson, attempted murder, and aggravated battery. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Miguel De La O was set to preside over the case, according to court records.
