Bobrovsky agreed to a three-year, $21 million contract with Toronto, ESPN’s Kevin Weekes and SportsNet’s Elliotte Friedman confirmed Wednesday.

Bobrovsky spent seven seasons with the Panthers, helping the franchise win back-to-back Stanley Cups while becoming one of the most beloved players in team history.

“A sincere thank you to Sergei Bobrovsky for everything that he’s done for the organization,” said Panthers general manager Bill Zito. “Not just on the ice, but his contribution in the community, but there’s a lot of things that he did that aren’t public. A thank you to Bob.”

The two-time Vezina Trophy winner also helped Florida eliminate Toronto in the playoffs twice over the last four seasons.

The move comes after a difficult 2025-26 season for Bobrovsky, who finished with a .877 save percentage, the worst mark of his Panthers career.

Toronto added the 37-year-old after trading goalie Joseph Woll to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Bobrovsky’s reported departure comes shortly after the Panthers announced an eight-year contract extension for forward Eetu Luostarinen and the signing of veteran defenseman Radko Gudas, who played for the Panthers from 2020-2023.
