MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A public bus crashed into a building, damaged pipes, and caused a gas leak that prompted street closures and evacuations on Monday morning in Miami Beach, according to police.

Miami Beach fire rescue personnel took two people who suffered respiratory difficulties after the gas leak to the Mount Sinai Medical Center, according to police.
Miami Beach police officers reported responding shortly after 4:10 a.m. to the 8600 block of Harding Avenue after the Miami-Dade transit bus crashed at 315 86 Street in North Beach, near Surfside.
Police officers and fire rescue personnel evacuated residents and closed Harding Avenue and Collins Court in both directions from 85th to 88th streets and Byron Avenue’s westbound lanes, according to police.
