Child found dead inside vehicle parked outside Plantation preschool

PLANTATION, Fla. — A death investigation is ongoing after a child was found deceased inside a vehicle in Broward County.

The scene was located outside A World of Discovery Academy at 7025 Northwest Fourth Street in Plantation.

According to police, first responders arrived after receiving reports of a deceased child inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Plantation Fire Department crews located the vehicle and pronounced the child deceased.

According to the owner of the daycare, the father of the child arrived to pick up his 1-year-old son.

The owner said staff informed him that the boy was marked absent and was never dropped off, which is when he opened the back of his SUV and noticed the child in the back and began to scream.

Authorities have not confirmed any additional information, including the circumstances that led to the child’s death or whether anyone would be facing charges.
