Reward offered for 5th suspect wanted in deadly North Lauderdale shooting

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday offered a reward for information leading to the arrest of a fifth suspect wanted in connection with a North Lauderdale shooting that they say left a man dead and another injured in May.

Investigators said Matthew Holloway is wanted on charges of first-degree murder and multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder in the May 8 shooting near the 7900 block of Southwest Seventh Court.

According to BSO, deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 1 a.m. and found 19-year-old O’Mari Doe inside a 2020 Ford Mustang suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities said he was airlifted to Broward Health North, where he was later pronounced dead. They also confirmed that 20-year-old Maurice Vorroto was found outside the vehicle with a gunshot wound. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Investigators said Doe, Vorroto and two other people were sitting inside the Mustang when five suspects arrived in a black Honda Accord. They said witnesses told detectives the suspects got out armed with handguns and fired multiple shots into the Mustang before fleeing.

Authorities previously arrested Aamir Adams, Anthony Adams and two minor suspects after they said a Fort Lauderdale police officer spotted the Honda Accord, leading to a pursuit that ended when the suspects bailed out near the 900 block of Southwest 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale.

Detectives said their investigation later identified Holloway as the fifth suspect involved in the shooting, and a warrant has since been issued for his arrest.
