According to police, officers responded to Convenience World, located at 3038 Johnson St., on Sunday night after receiving reports of a woman in the drive-thru who appeared to have fainted.
Officers arrived to find Julia Pilkington, 35, inside a black Jeep Grand Cherokee “in actual physical control of the vehicle,” that also included a young child in a car seat in the back row of the Jeep, according to official documents.
Police said Pilkington, who was conscious and breathing, would not cooperate despite officers telling her they were only there to check on her wellbeing.

When an officer attempted to reach inside the vehicle and unlock the doors, police said Pilkington put the Jeep into drive and took off at a high rate of speed.
According to authorities, Pilkington drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of Johnson Street, going through a construction zone before moving “into the lane of oncoming traffic, failing to maintain control of her vehicle resulting in a head-on collision” with a responding officer in a marked police cruiser.
She was then taken into custody and is facing charges of child neglect without great bodily harm, resisting an officer without violence and reckless driving.
